Widening of a thin lip (lip enlargement) is achieved by an implantation of own tissue or artificial material to the lip or with a surgical method using the tissue from surrounding area. In case of a surgical procedure which uses tissue from the surrounding area, there are several cuts performed from the internal side of the lip, so that the resulting scar after surgery is not visible. Releasing, shifting and subsequent suturing of tissue to the internal side of the lip results to its widening. Enlargement of lips is performed in local or mild general anaesthesia, sutures are not removed since they are absorbable.
